//01About this position

What it is

Open-guard hybrid where one foot wraps behind the opponent's lead shin in a De La Riva configuration while the other foot threads under the far thigh in a single-leg X wedge. Both legs commit to leg control on opposite sides of the standing base, suspending the opponent's hips between two wedges. Distance is variable and the bottom player rotates beneath the standing legs to load sweeps and back-take angles.
